KFI - Brand identity design

KFI - Karma Filmed It is a cinematography agency driven by a deep love for storytelling and the power of film. We pour our hearts and souls into every project, ensuring that your unique story is captured with emotion and authenticity.

Client's Brief :  KFI is seeking a brand identity that evokes the rich essence of Egyptian culture while also embracing a modern, forward-thinking perspective. We believe in capturing stories that reflect both the timeless beauty of our heritage and the dynamic spirit of contemporary Egypt. We also seek from something gen-zish as our 70% audience is directed towards capturing young talents.

Outcome - After examining the agency's results, we established audience personas that targeted customers interested in learning cinematography and even want us to execute cinematography projects. We also revamped the brand in order to increase brand loyalty.

Impact - Following the debut of our new brand identity, over 350 individuals visited our physical studio, including over 45 potential clients, resulting in a commercial profit of over $3000 USD.

My process - I craft impactful brand identities through a meticulous six-step process. I begin by unearthing your brand's essence, understanding your audience and rivals. Visual exploration brings your story to life, with moodboards and prototypes paving the way for a unique, memorable logo. We then build a cohesive identity system, where colors, fonts, and imagery sing in harmony. Implementation extends your brand across all touchpoints, from websites to marketing materials, while clear guidelines ensure consistent presentation. Finally, I remain your brand partner, monitoring its performance and continuously refining its expression for enduring success.

Why these bright colours? -  Pelorous & Rio Grande: These energetic hues tap into Gen Z's love for boldness and vibrancy. They evoke a sense of playfulness, optimism, and freshness, perfectly aligning with their digital-native identities.

Thunder Black : Contrasting with the pops of color, Thunder Black adds depth and sophistication, preventing the palette from becoming overwhelming. It provides structure and grounding, balancing the youthful energy with a touch of mature elegance.

What's my type? -Helvetica Now Display: Clean lines, modern legibility, and a hint of playfulness – just like Gen Z! Its contemporary vibe perfectly complements the youthful energy of the Pelorous & Rio Grande, while Thunder Black adds a touch of sophisticated edge.

Let's talk about my mood board - This moodboard has a selection of ancient Egyptian symbols and illustrations that I created. The left half of the mood board has a selection of photographs that reflect Egypt's ancient culture and architecture, and the right side is entirely dedicated to displaying my analog approach. All I do is take several inspirations as inspiration and combine them to produce this powerful brand identity.

Is it just an emblem or logo? No, this final logo stands as a testament to meticulous design and layered symbolism. At first glance, its sharp lines and upward ascent evoke the unwavering momentum of a progressive arrow.

This dynamic form echoes the ancient Egyptian pyramids (2), symbols of resilience and eternal purpose, as seen in the left section of my moodboard: But delve deeper, and the subtle nuances unfold. The terminals of each letter mirror the precision and power of the Khopesh sword (1), a weapon prized for its lethal efficiency, prominently featured on moodboard.

More than just individual characters, the letters intertwine, forming the enlightened gaze of the Eye of K- Maat, Egyptian god of cosmic balance and justice ( karma ), and the watchful Eye of Horus, protector and symbol of well-being, as you've seen in diagram below (3).

This confluence of symbolism isn't just visually striking; it imbues the logo with profound meaning. It represents forward momentum guided by justice and protected by divine providence, a potent message for any brand striving for success.

Beyond its symbolic depth, the logo shines in its versatility. Its clean lines and modularity allow for seamless adaptation across various media and applications. As I have shown below, multiple copies can be seamlessly woven together to create striking patterns, adding another layer of visual intrigue.

In conclusion, this logo surpasses being a mere graphic; it's a meticulously crafted narrative, woven from ancient wisdom and contemporary design. Its unique blend of symbolism, versatility, and visual impact ensures it stands out from the crowd, leaving a lasting impression on all who encounter it.

While some may find case studies tedious, I see them as an exciting opportunity to demonstrate my design skills in minute detail. It's not just about displaying completed work; it's about weaving a story behind each stroke and pixel, showcasing the path from inception to completion.

The rewards of my effort can be found here - a comprehensive brand identity precisely developed from the ground up. This project, constructed on a minimal budget, demonstrates my ingenuity and unwavering enthusiasm for effective design. I'm convinced that with the correct support, my creative fire will ignite even bigger, more impactful achievements.

Testimonial

I've been in contact with Shashwat a.k.a shashwhatfx for more than 3-4 years... the amount of time and ingenuity he puts into each job, big or small, is astounding. As he looks attentively at the work on his desk, he brings out more detailed work and believes in making some unique and never-before-seen creative work. As we began working on the projects, Shashwat's creative mind was created from scratch to an extreme wonderful gem..in my terms, he is the most valuable asset of my The Karma Dance Studio, North Dance League and now KFI too.

An absolute superstar for me, and clearly an emerging superstar for all of us.
